Overview
This policy explains how Ded, a free utility app, treats information. The short version: there is no account, no advertising, no analytics, and the app keeps your records on your device.
Categories Of Information
The categories of personal information that may be processed are limited to (1) the e-mail address and message contents you voluntarily submit when contacting support, and (2) anonymised system diagnostics that you may have enabled in iOS Settings. No other categories of personal information are processed by the app.
Sources Of Information
The information described above is provided directly by you (when you write to support) or by Apple's diagnostic frameworks (only if you opted in through iOS Settings). We do not buy lists, scrape data, or import information from data brokers.
Purposes Of Processing
Support correspondence is used solely to investigate and respond to your enquiry, to keep a record sufficient to demonstrate that we handled the request, and to comply with law. Diagnostic information is used to debug and improve the app.
Legal Bases (EU/EEA, UK)
Where the GDPR applies, processing is based on (a) our legitimate interest in operating and supporting the app, and (b) compliance with legal obligations. Where required, we also rely on your consent — for example, when you choose to send a support message.
Sharing
We do not sell personal information and do not share it with third parties for their own marketing. We may share support correspondence with our hosting and e-mail providers strictly to deliver the service, with law enforcement when legally compelled, or with successors in connection with a merger or acquisition.
Storage Location
Records you create remain on your device. Support correspondence is stored on infrastructure provided by reputable hosting and e-mail vendors; some of those vendors may operate outside your country. Standard contractual clauses or equivalent safeguards apply where required.
Retention
We retain support messages for the period necessary to fulfil the purposes described above. Typical retention is 24 months from the last interaction, after which messages are deleted or anonymised, unless a longer period is required by law.
Your Rights
You may exercise the following rights at any time by writing to support@dedapp.link: access; rectification; erasure; restriction of processing; data portability; objection; lodging a complaint with your supervisory authority. Where applicable law confers additional rights — such as the CCPA/CPRA in California — those rights also apply.
Children
Ded is not designed for, and is not knowingly used by, children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child contacted support, please write to support@dedapp.link for prompt deletion.
Security
Industry-standard administrative, technical, and physical safeguards protect information under our control, including encryption of data in transit. Despite these efforts, no system is fully impenetrable.
Changes
We will revise this notice as practices evolve. The effective date is updated whenever the policy is amended. Material changes will be communicated by means appropriate to the change.
Operator And Contact
The data controller is Liubov Stetsenko. All privacy enquiries should be sent to support@dedapp.link.
